Air Sealing Garage Space for Energy Efficiency

A homeowner reached out to use a few weeks ago regarding their garage attic insulation. They were unsure if their garage attic space was insulated. Upon inspection, no insulation, no air sealing, no baffles and evidence of condensation on the north side of the attic on the back of the roof sheathing.

Location: Nampa, Idaho

Concern: Unsure if attic was insulated.

Cause: Never was insulated or ventilated with baffles.

Our Resolution:  We added a full perimeter of baffles, air sealed the entire garage attic space and added R30 Owens Corning ProPinkL77.
