Will adding insulation to my attic make my house warmer in the winter?

We get this question often and the answer depends mostly on how much insulation you currently have in your attic, and also if there is consistent coverage of insulation throughout the attic. For this reason, a good attic inspection is a very useful step. We offer free detailed inspections. If you have 14 inches of insulation in your attic currently, it is unlikely that adding 14 more is going to make your house feel significantly different. If however you have 3 or 4 inches of attic insulation currently adding 14 inches of new insulation will make a tremendous difference in comfort.
